Biblioteca Cervantina — 70 Years of Cultural Legacy

The Biblioteca Cervantina is one of Mexico’s most important academic and cultural archives, housing rare books, historical documents, and special collections that span centuries. Part of the renowned university, Tecnológico de Monterrey based in Mexico City. In 2024, it celebrates 70 years of preserving and promoting knowledge, memory, and heritage.

We created a commemorative logo to mark this milestone. The outcome is a modular visual system anchored in a bold, graphic 70 that integrates both symbol and wordmark into a unified block. More than just a number, the 70 becomes a frame: a dynamic container for images, textures, and stories.

Each geometric form: square, circle, and a diagonal cut was designed to evoke structure, diversity, and continuity. The elements can be filled with archival imagery or left as pure color, depending on the context. Together, they express a legacy that is not static, but alive and evolving.

This is an identity that honors the past while remaining versatile, fresh, and future-facing.
